ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jeff McLaurin had passion for art from a very young age and spent much of his free time devoted to its creation. Originally from North Carolina, Jeff was drawn to the University of Georgia in Athens where he studied Fine Art. While he studied many different artistic mediums, he was most intrigued by metalsmithing and jewelry design. As a student, Jeff worked part time at a locally renowned jewelry store where he was afforded the opportunity to practice alongside several master craftsmen and learn more of the fine skills of the trade.

After graduating, Jeff continued to hone his skills by working in at jewelry stores and apprenticing with master jewelers. These experiences offered him an opportunity practice his skills as well as learn the advanced techniques and discipline to become a master jeweler himself.

In 2003, Jeff created JM Designs so he could express himself creatively through his own designs in fine men and women's jewelry. Recognizing a place in specialized men's accessories market, Jeff has turned his focus in 2005 towards designing fine custom belt buckles. Using sterling silver, gold, exotic woods and gemstones, Jeff strives to bring a higher standard and sophistication in his work that is not often seen in modern men's belt buckles and accessories. Since then, JM Designs has striven to push the boundaries of creative design to create limited edition and custom pieces with unparalleled style and originality.

Jeff currently resides in Atlanta with his wife and son.
