NicheLabs Helps Raise Awareness for ROOF by Designing and Development their New Website

About the Company:

Residential Options of Florida, Inc. (ROOF) is a 501(c)(3) corporation created by a statewide group of stakeholders in 2014 with the support of the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council. “The mission of ROOF is to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to successfully obtain and maintain affordable and inclusionary housing of their choice.”

 

They provide housing information 24 hours per day, year round. They also educate policymakers, network with other organizations, and advocate for funding to fulfill their vision; their promise is that “Every community in Florida will have an abundance of housing choices that meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

 

Client Challenges & Goals:

Because ROOF is a new organization, one of their most vital next steps is to raise awareness. NicheLabs has been hired to build a website for ROOF that effectively expresses their brand message, mission, and personality. They also need their site to display housing options in an easy and effective way. Of course, being a non-profit organization, it is very important to encourage donations.

 

NicheLabs Proposed Solutions for ROOF:

NicheLabs is building a site for ROOF that is very simple and easy to understand/navigate. The site will include a job board on which the site administrator will be able to post jobs to encourage volunteers. It will also include an area in which to make donations. There will be a directory of organizations that support ROOF; each organization will have its own profile. NicheLabs will be providing ongoing support as well as a CMS (Content Management System) and ROOF will be able to add or edit content and pages on their own. Training will be provided for use of the CMS. Our goal is to provide an inviting, clean, and simple website that offers superior usability and portrays the trustworthy and good-willed identity of the ROOF brand.
